Firefighters busy with evening house fire in Cranston, RI

Photo: Corey Welch
Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire on the third floor and rear of a home at 44 Waterman Ave in Cranston around 6pm this evening. Crews were called out of the building several times as conditions became too dangerous. Several ladder pipes were put in operation to knock down the heavy fire before an interior attack resumed. Flames were visible through the roof and rear of the home throughout much of the incident. It took about an hour to get the fire under control. The Red Cross was on scene to provide assistance to the families living in the home.
